UKF NEWS
11th April 2006

First of all, appologies for the lack of news since the 27th. Its just been a rather hectice few weeks in the real world for all of the UKF team, as well as being busy on a few of our current projects. Never-the-less here is a quick news item to keep you all going till I have something more substantial to show you.

The first item of news is our UKF Affiliation Project. Essentially if you or your squad use our addons in your missions (be they multiplayer, single player) or you generally have a operation flashpoint site dedicated to the british side of things then we want to create an archive of all those sites on our site here. The idea behind this project is that someone who stumbles across our addons for the first time would have a long list of websites where they can get SP missions to tinker with, and a selection of Multiplayer squads they can join to enjoy our addons to their full potential. If you're interested, as a few squads already have been, please post the relevant imformation in THIS THREAD. Once we have enough squads and sites listed, we will be creating an 'Affiliation' section to the site, and posting news on our front page about it.

Second bit of news is the progress being made on the Wolf Land Rovers. Whilst there is a fair bit of work to be done on the hardtop versions and some of the other versions that you'll have to wait to see yet, the Battlefield Ambulance (Pulse) has come on leaps and bounds. Thanks to alot of nifty scripting here and there, and some incredible anims from our animator Shifty, this should be a nice little addition to the wolf pack, as well as any OFP squad's list of assets. They say a picture paints a thousand words, so here you go  Wink

One again, she looks great, very vital addition in any landrover fleet and MP squad Wink
Will we be expecting to see some medical equipment to go with them? Such as stretchers, medical packs that can be used ect?

Keep the good work up  Wink

All thats needed now is a slightly scruffy medic unit, with a squatting over the oxygen tank having a smoke anim.

Nice one.

Bugger, I thought it was the pulse we had, but they are actually 130 C and 110 Cs with a body by Macclesfield Motor bodies (of Cheshire)

nice work, but as far as im aware the field ambulances dont have to display the "ambulance" text when on the battlefield (as its removable), its just a complication about driving on the uk's roads, government forced them to display the ambulance text, my dad was a ssgt in the ramc and is now in charge of all the army primary health care centres in the south of england, so thats what he told me about that...

but he told me that ages ago so may have it wrong so appolagies if wrong

the 'ambulance' signs as well as the redcross are randomised/removable in the mission editor... we've made allowances for all the uses this vehicle has... i.e. in the battlefield, on the public roads etc.

we do try  Grin

and yes, welcome to the forums - if your dad has any more info he's like to share, that would be greatly appreciated, info on these vehicles is scarce to say the least. I had to bribe one of our advisors to crawl around one in his barracks taking photos  Grin
